Nuremberg
Why and how has this dodged all award show discussions? The acting, casting, costuming, cinematography, directing, scoring, and writing—it's an absolute snub all around. A psychiatrist, a courtroom, and a handful of Nazi officials. Dissecting the complexities of pure evil is a perilously tough task, and the absolute unease in the almost provocative first half underlines why. Whether it be the 1940s or 2020s, the warning signs are frighteningly uncanny, and yet, despite the abhorrent horrors, we still struggle to grasp the lessons history provides. That said, the hypocrisy is stark. If the Nuremberg principles were truly upheld, several figures, past and present, would be facing a noose. "The only clue to what man can do is what man has done."

Nuremberg
so much of the cinema surrounding war is either focusing on the battlefront or what was happening back home. there’s never much of a focus on what happens afterwards. as a history undergraduate, this film does exactly what it needs to, absolutely loved it 9/10

“You know why it happened here? Because we allowed it to happen.” Yet those same so called arbiters of justice and international law are allowing genocides to happen all over, namely Gaza and Sudan. The difference? They’re complicit this time, directly aiding the perpetrators.

I’m not normally into history movies but this is definitely top tier. I enjoyed every second of it even though it was pretty gore

Nuremberg
Bad acting from good actors, cringe, predictable writing and just poor execution all the way around. Makes the Nazi’s seem like the victims at a certain point. Completely untrue execution of the real world events, hell it wasn’t even Americans conducting it, it was the Brits.

This movie is very well done! Made me want to learn and research more about the actual event which is a huge win in my book. Lots of questions from this and I do think they left a lot unanswered and a tad bit rushed. Love historical movies like this!

Woah. I haven’t found scene that I couldn’t watch, but the bulldozer at the concentration camps was too much.
Heavy powerful movie, with an unexpected theme applicable to today. Russel Crowe was fantastic. The movie did a really good job at making you feel what the doctor felt.

Rating: 7.7/10 ⭐️
I expected a dry procedural, but the psychological warfare between Malek and Crowe totally got under my skin.
What Worked:
Wolski’s tight framing turns cell interrogations into tense battles of wit. Crowe is chilling as a highly intelligent manipulator. Through my Methodist faith lens, confronting this darkness reinforced my belief in the moral necessity of holding wickedness accountable.
The Cuts:
Focusing on Kelley’s book deal meant the momentum stalled out; it was spinning its wheels on greed. The shifts between cell talks and courtroom speeches gave me total whiplash. Keeping it spoiler-free, sudden intertitles wrap up Malek’s fallout way too fast, leaving a hollow taste.
Verdict:
An unsettling thriller anchored by Crowe. Essential for history buffs, skip if you want an uplifting drama.
Favorite Line: “The regime’s cruelty was unchallenged because of a general impassivity towards evil.”

Very very good. Interesting parallels to the Truman Capote movie with understanding terrible people. Excellent arc of plot that leaves you satisfied, and interesting history

This was harrowing and horrible and left me feeling sick and disgusted.
“Will you even regard us as human?” To see their humanity juxtaposed by the most evil acts in the modern age is beyond disturbing. This movie was amazingly well done. While I didn’t “like” it, it’s necessary

A vision of enlightenment into what exactly makes a human do the inhuman, what filled them with pride, hate and most of all delusions of grandeur, absolutely well crafted.

Every time I watch a movie about the Holocaust, I’m left speechless, wondering how people could do such things to other human beings.
