I usually struggle to watch movies filmed like this one (slow, lots of silent walking and dialogue very much like a documentary), but it was done just perfectly enough to keep my attention, and is such a beautiful story.

Beautiful visuals and decent real story but it’s not for me, too long with too slow action and slightly boring. The story just didn’t click with me

i watched this on a plane and i don’t remember too much
i think that’s why i liked it tho bc it was minimalistic
and it was more of a character study and growth movie
i don’t remember the plot rlly
but i remember liking it and i think i cried

My English teacher knows all the best movies. I cried a bunch, It felt so real.

Stark in a lot of ways. But a tough reality for a lot of people. Great to see that represented.

A quietly beautiful film. This was so profoundly moving to me. The way it explores human connection, the restless spirit, communion with nature and the world around us, what we owe to ourselves and those we care about. I found this to be so deeply touching and poignant. I find it hard to even think about the technical aspects of this film (though Zhao’s directing is breathtaking and McDormand delivers a world-class performance), because all I can think about is how it made me feel. This was really special.

A story that questions freedom! how or perspectives are all different when it comes to way someone chooses to live. despite the realities of the economic situation.

Eine echt interessante Lebensgeschichte über ein modernes Nomadenleben in den USA. Vom Stil her könnte es schon beinahe als Dokumentation durchgehen. Slow Pace, aber tolle Charaktere. Die Bewertung fällt mir schwer, da ich kaum das Gefühl hatte wirklich einen Film gesehen zu haben

Watched this for my intro to film class.

This film was visually stunning.

The story was also daunting and the commentary on individualism was thought provoking.

I loved the use of Shakespeares sonnet when they were discussing marriage vows.

Sad but sweet.

My Rating: 7.5/10

Nominated for 6 awards and won 3 including director and actress. I think this is one of Frances Mcdormand’s best movies. It is pretty slow but the performances put this film at the top.
