No Country for Old Men Reviews

Amazing acting and great compelling plot but the ending was so bad. Before the ending, I was thinking 9.5/10 but the ending just left me with metaphorical blue b***s so far that reason alone, I give it a 7.9/10

I’m going to be honest, I hadn’t read anything about this film going in, so my expectations were in the wrong area. Maybe it’s because I don’t fully understand the point of this film, but I didn’t find it to be very entertaining or that good. I usually like thoughtful movies 🤷‍♂️

Javier Bardem with one of the greatest acting performances I have seen

The first half started off really strong, good plot, good actions, good characters. And then in the second half everything just went off the rails and it became a mashup of different random unrelated scenes. It felt like they wrote half a movie and didn’t know how to end it.

Only flaw is the unrealistic ending when you consider he is literally Thanos

Definitely one of my favorites of all time. Javier Bardem had an Oscar worthy performance. I’m not surprised that his character is voted as most accurate to a psychopath.

The creative decision to include a soundtrack for this film and instead use the natural sounds of the surrounding landscape to further create the feeling of desolate isolation was nothing short of genius. One of the Coen brothers’ absolute best work, if not their best.

Honestly the way country people talk is weird as hell to me and it sounds like a different language to me half the time 😭 they portrayed a psychopath well, and I liked the cat and mouse chase aspect, but that aspect didn’t last long, i really didn’t enjoy the movie overall…
