I just couldn’t get invested in it. I’ve have never been as disconnected from a main character as I was from Mai. For most of the movie she felt one dimensional, and they waited too long to create an emotional connection. The whole thing was rushed and badly done.

Next Gen is like Big Hero 6 meets Black Mirror lite—cute robot, emotional beats, and a surprisingly dark take on tech addiction. It’s stylish, heartfelt, and more layered than you’d expect. Great for kids, but with just enough edge to keep older viewers locked in too.
