Nice depiction of France before they were just a bunch of croissant eating pussies. I can with out a doubt confirm napoleon is the horniest cuck in history. Great picture and battle scenes in all. Brother was really like that until he caught his first L. Research history before.

I got an early watch because I know Ridley Scott personally and I must say I’m disappointed. The movie was great 10/10 but why didn’t they cast a dwarf instead of phoenix. Like dude Napoleon was short, I would laugh my ass off to that little r*tard beast the whole time. 5/10🤷🏼‍♂️

Runtime aside, the film felt long. The events were at a surface level and it was hard to feel any character development or attachment. Biopic or not, I think taking a portion of Napoleon's life and focusing just on that might have made the film that much more enjoyable. 6/10

Somewhat difficult to rate. Well acted. Great battle scenes. But way too much timeframe to cover, even at 3 hours. Felt likes a series of vignettes. Not much character development or story arc. Just a series of “need to show this moment in history” boxes being checked.

Some comments said that it’s like a long trailer for a greater, bigger and better movie, though it’s worth it and you should go and watch it in the cinema. The immersive battles and two extraordinary performances encourages you to watch the director’s cut, coming on Apple TV+.

no idea if Napoleon was autistic in real life but this movie sure made it seem like he was.

Each act contains a spectacle-filled battle scene, beautifully choreographed, lit, and shot. Scott knows what he’s doing with action scenes. No complaints here. The rest of the narrative trips him up, however.

A beautifully shot let down. With Scott directing and phoenix starring, the hopes were high but the bar wasn’t met. There was a long runtime but it was the pacing, atmosphere, and character interactions that made it feel long. Again gorgeous looking flick but just missed the mark

Would’ve enjoyed it more if I didn’t have a horrible case of restless legs - anyways, good history but kind of boring? I wonder if this is all true or if they added more for cinematic effect. Didn’t know a lot about him before and now I do so that’s cool!

5/10 a hate watch for me. Historically inaccurate and boring. A British director brings hate to a French figure. Napoleon in reality was a charismatic figure that held the love of his country and was the 3rd greatest general all time. This movie just makes him a cuck that loses.

6.6 - barely a “like.” The battles are epic. The scope/sound/costumes/sets are all sweeping & strong. It’s everything in between that leaves much to be desired. It’s uneven in tone & pace. There’s depth missing from the scenes between the battles. Hopeful for more from dir cut.

Well to be very clear. That movie just made me feel as if a unsolved puzzle! The first hour was a mess. Then the last hour and half was better than the first. At all Joaquin’s acting was mid, 100% not his perfect role. Cinematography 10/10. And totally it goes to 8/10.

Napoleon kinda failed to meet its expectations. The cinematography was outstanding. The pacing was inconsistent. The score was really good in some particular scenes. The plot felt like they were snippets from his life that the writers thought were important enough to include.

Ridley Scott investigates Napoleon's personal journey. he seems to ask: how great can a petty man be? or; how petty can a great man be? One way or the other, he humanizes Napoleon for better and worse. Vain, cuck, proud, brave, stubborn. well done all the way through. However, +

cinematically fantastic but hideously boring

The director's cut is a must-watch for anyone who loves Ridley level epic, it felt more informative. Although both are Ridley's unapologetic interpretation of Napoleon. We are given possible reasonings behind 'little corporal' himself, making it all contradictory. Always do your own research. What bothered me the most was the 'actors' not 'acting'. The accents took me out of even a Joaquin performance. You've taken culture/character from 'Boney' already, and can't even give him his accent? The battles are some of the best I've ever seen. The untimely but extravagant score paired with otherworldly effects and amazing designs/costumes, makes it the full-course meal it is.

I was extremely excited from the moment the first teaser came out. I had high expectations. The movie was really good, very long for some, which I wouldn't mind too much. Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor. I really enjoyed the battle scenes. Cinematography at the highest level.

A little gory for my liking, but I enjoyed the history. Tbh, I feel asleep for some of the movie 🫣 It was long.

At times (especially the battle sequences) this film was truly epic! That battle scene on the ice was amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever paid more attention to costumes than I did during this film. If you want to see some amazing battle scenes check this out, otherwise skip it.
