I analyzed this movie for a film class I took last semester and to say I, as well as the entirety of the class, was touched by the story would be an understatement.

Moonlight was extremely eye opening and tackles quite a few heavy subjects in beautiful ways. It is a must watch!

Raw, emotional, stunning, exquisite, lush, brutal, profound, nuanced, empathetic, and most importantly, original. Barry Jenkins' Moonlight provides a genuine story about trauma and the journey of becoming your own person. It is very much an "Arman" movie and should be studied. ❤️

I’m sorry but I have no idea why this one any awards it was so hard to watch

Homosexuality done right. No rainbows, no weirdness, no dumb message. Just two men loving each other and the struggles that come with it.

SOOO BEAUTIFUL OMGGG UHGG I watched it in film class so we discussed the symbolism and stuff and I feel like that made it even better. I would totally recommend reading an analysis of the film if you enjoyed it. definitely a classic.

Reference, in the end, back to the scene with jaun, he’s in blue light after resolving his
trauma and gayness with mom/kev respectively. where Juan was when he decided who he was and only he got to decided. it’s anticlimactic because Teresa said only he’ll know when he knows.

confusing but vivid

The story of two lovers destined to fail because of a patriarchal and backward society that represses men from being who they want to be. They deserved more :(

filme mto bonito mas o rapaz só faz sofrer, pula no tempo de repente e o caba tem 35 anos e só deu um beijinho na vida toda. como pode ter mudado tanto externamente mas afetivamente continua reprimido como uma criança escanteada, como q vai se relacionar com o par romântico assim

9.7/ Such a soul touching movie! I loved how we see the years of our main character exploring his true self. I loved the end, it’s not dragged out. The acting is phenomenal (one character I couldn’t stand tho. But maybe that’s the whole point, to make his actions look foolish).
