Mission: Impossible II

Like most reviews, i would also just give it a meh rating, my preference is that M:i 1 was better than this one (M:i 2), the plot for the first was way more enjoyable/likeable than the second, It’s still watchable though, just find it a little worse.

Overall - 5.5/10

Nowhere near as good as 1. Dumbed down plot. Unnecessary, silly stunts. A bland villain. I recall being excited that John Woo was directing. And slo mo (especially with doves in the shot) is a Woo signature. But he over signatured this one.

Spy Kid Fast and Furious

Mission: Impossible was a real thrill but Mission: Impossible II took it to a whole new level far exceeding my expectations. While the Langley heist and train scenes in the first film were impressive, I was completely blown away by the sheer amount of action in this one.

Tom Cruise delivers another phenomenal portrayal of super spy Ethan Hunt, absolutely crushing it with his stunt performances throughout. I particularly loved the motorbike scene towards the end riding through the flames!

I truly loved the cinematography, the storyline and the entire cast in this film. It’s a great watch and I’ll definitely revisit it in the future. I'm excited to see what's in store for me in the third instalment!
