actually was way more clever than i thought it was gonna be, it was pretty nasty but cool, i think some scenes went on for way too long but the bugs were some of the better cgi monsters i’ve seen

i loved it! this movie was so fun, and kept me hooked even through the more boring stuff. i love the judas breed roaches, and the cgi didnt look too fakey! also, norman reedus was a nice surprise

suffers from too many characters and some storylines needed a little more filling out. visually too dark. wish we had gotten to see the bug creatures in the light, also not enough bugs for most of the movie. 4/10, just about average.

thought it would be the typical horror but i was surprised with the direction the movie went. i actually like it, a lot of tense moments and the story was really good. my only complaint was that there were moments where the screen was SO DARK😭 worth the watch tho

Always down for a creature feature! If only it wasn't fucking roaches, though.

Underrated creature feature from Guillermo Del Toro. Dark and gritty with blue and yellow neon backlights. The late 90s had some of the best set designs 8/10

an honestly good movie and early, conflicted work from one of my all-time favorite directors. dedicated performances with an interesting narrative and a creepy albeit slightly basic creature. fuck harvey weinstein

Arsal is "meh" on
Mimic
It leans into claustrophobic horror. The story blends science fiction with urban gothic flair, while the oppressive setting amplified paranoia. Although, the CGI is dated given when it came out.

I freaking LOVED the short story this is based on, and freaking hated how they bastardized the series elements of the story for cheap monster tropes—bah!

Just really average. Nothing unique from any other creature horror film. Glad del Toro improved himself
