could have been so much better if it wasn’t two and a half hours. too long for a silent film. the story was really good and the set was great but i couldn’t appreciate either cause it just went on and on and on

Metropolis
4/5⭐️
Another silent film classic that you have to watch if you want to dive into the world of cinema. The story is remarkably futuristic for a film made in 1927, yet its themes remain relevant today. The wealthy are the privileged ones, while the working class labors in the shadows and is subjected to mistreatment. The film suggests that both the rich and the workers can coexist in the same world without being divided. Manipulation also plays a very important role throughout the story.

Metropolis
In the distant future of 2024, a cabal of the rich and powerful use technology to manipulate, control and divide the poor and working class to act against their best interests. You know…science fiction.

Metropolis
full disclosure i did watch on 1.75x speed cause Damn 2.5 hours of silence man but Wow pretty cool to watch one of the first sci-fi films (and watch it the year before it’s set to take place) Especially being able to watch the full reconstructed version w/ the lost 16mm and 35m

Metropolis
Massively influential and a true masterpiece of the silent era. Score is incredible, it had to be and it is. Story is relevant to today and the world building for a 20s film is insane. Fritz Lang is incredible and the distinct visual style is timeless. Wow
