This by no means a bad film. The twists and turns as the story unfolds proves that. However, the tone of the film isn’t very exciting. It didn’t keep me as engaged as I hoped it would. There’s were moments where I felt tired because the story felt like it was going nowhere.

The way the events are listed, I don't know if they are positive or negative, positive because they make you live the pathological state of the character and negative in that they confused me very much, in general a great movie that I recommend, + watch an explanation of it 8/10.

A very good beginning to Nolan’s career. An incredibly unique way of storytelling and makes you think about the reality of it all. 7.8/10

God this was such a good watch.
The most complicated movie I've ever seen, I said "wtf" like 15 times while watching it.
Watched 8 analysis videos and I still don't fully understand it.
Out of this world directing, I don't believe Nolan is a human.
Absolute cinema ♡ A must watch.

Memento

I went into this movie confused and clue less, but that's what hooked me in. I became the character, finding out what happened. nolans mind is genuinely terrifyingly genuis.

recomiendo 👍

Confusing as hell. But still was somewhat enjoyable. Cynical and nihilistic simultaneously, I don’t think there’s much to get out of it other than that.

Tried to watch this after a drink and my brain couldn’t comprehend. Will have to revisit.

Memento

"Memory can change the shape of a room; it can change the colour of a car"

Memento is a very weird movie, it’s confusing, in the best possible sense, it’s whole idea shouldn’t work, it’s literally one of the worst ideas for a movie on paper, and yet it works so fucking well on screen due to the screenplay and direction.

I literally can’t talk about this without spoiling it, as every single scene is a twist and turn, I can only critique the way it’s made, like my main negative is the fact it’s really hard to follow, to the point if you don’t watch it twice, you won’t get the most out of it.

Plot 10/10 (the worst idea on paper, amazing on screen)

Acting 9.1/10 (Guy Pearce gives a hell of a performance)

Soundtrack/Score 8.7/10 (the ending had an amazing song)

Cinematography 8.6/10 (nothing special but camera work is great)

Character Development 8.7/10 (they can’t develop and yet the way we see Lennard does)

Writing 9.7/10 (gotta give Nolan his props when he deserves it)

Ending 8.5/10 (confusing but when you get it or when you’re told about it, or even after another watch, it definitely goes up)

Direction 9.2/10 (it should be easier to go from the end as you can kind of make it up as you go along, but the way some shots were done amazes me)

Overall 8.7/10

jesus this messes with your brain

Classic Christopher Nolan movie. Really makes you think. Many ways you can interpret the movie but however you look at it, it is depressing and it can teach you something about life. The concept was extremely clever

Memento

9.5/10 — Memento is the kind of film that changes every time you think about it. It’s less about solving a mystery and more about questioning how much of our identity is built on the stories we tell ourselves.
