I don't know anything about Masters of the Universe, but I don't think it should've taken place mostly on earth as a typical 80s action lol. Felt like low-budget Star Wars I still think it's cool, though.

A campy Fantasy adventure that has the power to cross into cringe.

It’s an 80s cartoon adaptation. It was never gonna be groundbreaking. It’s fun. Lungdren is actually solid in a leading role for once. Frank Langella is the icing on the cake. Full commitment to the campiness of He-Man.

it's an 80s cheese fest, so bring your crackers but omg the performance from skeletor is amazing! The cast is made up of many "before fame" actors and actresses.

Gwildor, Teela, and Lubic are so annoying. Julie was tricked too easily. Half a chromon, half a preton? Could not stop laughing at Karg

7/10 As an 80s movie about a cartoon/comic, this wasn't as bad as I thought itd be.
Given the limitations of what they could do, this was really well done and felt more grounded. It also felt more real to the situations regardless of what the characters were.
It had its flaws, but they weren't such a huge issue with the story. Not bad!

Rating: 5.2/10 ⭐️
Prepping for the new 2026 film dropping this week. Expected a cheesy 80s toy movie, but Langella’s unhinged Skeletor totally saved it for me.
What Worked:
• Watching He-Man slash through enemies honestly hits that satisfying Action RPG vibe.
• Langella is top-tier; his theatrical energy as Skeletor steals every single scene.
• Grayskull’s gothic sets and matte paintings add so much cool 80s charm.
The Friction:
• Characters wandering Earth for the Cosmic Key took too long. I honestly just wanted them back in Eternia.
• Gwildor felt too goofy, and the middle part really dragged for me thanks to Gwildor.
• The final showdown felt super rushed; I wanted a longer He-Man vs. Skeletor duel.
Verdict:
Watch for a campy 80s fantasy with an incredible villain. Skip if cheesy Earth plots bore you.

I can appreciate the practical effects, but at times they also felt very silly.
