Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Reviews

you gotta respect kenneth branagh. he may not make the best literary adaptations, or even the worst. but by god he sure does make the loudest. love a man who can corner a niche.

A fine adaptation. DeNiro as the creature is cool and kinda haunting.

5/10. Because the lesson taught is interesting and makes you, weirdly, appreciate more the fact that we die and don't come back from the dead

7/10 A great cast and enjoyable (1994) version although shorter compared to the 2025 film. Recommend.

It was alright but I liked the new Frankenstein better

😬

I absolutely loved this film back in the 90s! I did really like this version of the Frankenstein story. It really shows how one bad decision can can ruin your life! I really waited way too long to watch this again and I will not make that mistake again!

Good a free changes (old but good)

8/10 (a bit to much of unimportant themes and scenes and interesting actions are told to fast)

A fairly decent take on ‘Frankenstein’, but the acting and production style is way too melodramatic to be taken seriously.

Absolute comfort film for me. Perfect, dark gothic vibes, fabulous cast, old school classic.

the creation scene was funny

CAMP

pacing is awfully dull, you spend half the movie waiting for something to happen. plot elements i most enjoyed were ones ripped straight from the book, embellishments added are where it fell through. falls short of gothic horror and misses a campier edge. lukewarm frankenstein

frantic pacing but lovely visuals and nice to have something sort of close to the books for once.

I feel bad for him

Absolute mediocre movie that only had one thing going for it and that being Robert de Niros acting which is incredible other than that it drags on for too long and should have ended at 1h 30 6.2/10

That was some kind of incest between lockhart and bellatrix. Would have never guessed that’s it’s Robert de niro (mom was flabbergasted )

Hims so rude
