such a sad movie! im happy that mary survived but i wished max had lived a bit longer to meet her. It's so jarring to see how autism was treated back then and the same for obesity. I wish Max had another bit of happiness to escape the cruel judgement me faces everyday

watched this at like 8 and promptly got traumatized for life 10/10

i didn’t expect to like it as much as i did. the style was very different to what i’m used to, but it definitely fit the story. the ending was devastating and i wished they could’ve had their happy ending; life is just perfectly imperfect and it’s a good lesson from this movie. 🥹
