Man on the Moon
Magnificent. Extraordinary. One of the best biopics I’ve seen in a good while. I was not born in the age of Andy Kaufman, but through the help of Jim’s genius portrayal, this story dances gracefully between the line of fact and fiction, which gets very meta the more you look into the making of this film, or any biopics for that matter. You constantly question what you’re watching. You question the meaning of performance. Is an act still an act if no audience knows it’s an act? Or does that act become reality? Audiences are left with no choice but to engage, and I believe, at least the way this film presents him to be, that’s what Andy’s all about.
The scene in his bedroom (The first time we see him after the opening act) and the scene where he found out the doctor in Philippines was a fraud (The last time we see him before the final act) captures the essence of this entire film so so well. Everything is an act, or nothing is. You don’t need to play for the audience. Play for life. For being alive.
What a fascinating artist.

Man on the Moon
Jim Carrey does an amazing job of portraying such an interesting man. The film has a beautiful message: always do what you want to do, no matter who tells you otherwise.

Man on the Moon
Watched for Jim Carrey, phenomenal acting portrayal of the character. Otherwise the film is okay, an eccentric character with a unique take on “comedy” at the time.

Man on the Moon
Underrated. From this movie you can see how much this Genius inspired Jim Carrey, and lucky for Jim, he was the perfect candidate to bring back to life his hero
