this was so sad, but I loved it.
reminded me of requiem for a dream where you’re put into the shoes of a bunch of suffering characters.
great soundtrack too (Aimee Mann is so incredible).

I can’t exactly explain why but this movie is absolutely riveting. I could not stop watching even though it’s 3 hours of different stories that don’t even necessarily have anything to do with eachother. The individual scenes, the performances, and the themes just pack such a punch. And the way music is used to build tension in between different stories to connect them together was also a brilliant touch. I really liked this a lot, even if the ending is kinda hard to make sense of. PTA just simply has the sauce.
8.5/10 (I’ve also never seen Tom Cruise deliver such a banger performance on my life)

Movies that kick you when you’re down for reals. I need to watch again stuff was happening so fast sometimes. Also idk about the Bible so idk what all that exodus stuff means. Gotta find out about that.

A beautiful story about the complexity of the human experience and forgiveness. What a painful watch because of how compassionate it is and the empathy/understanding it looks for in the characters. Everyone’s at the top of their game and PTA’s craft is unrestrained and masterful.

very long yet close look of some of the most miserable people going through the most. Amazing how the film tells intimate stories of multiple characters while also being a larger story as a whole. Tom cruise really outdid himself in his role

possibly may have found my new favorite movie ever. im an atheist, but im still a history buff, so the Book of Exodus theme in this movie made me so excited. Tom Cruise was essentially Andrew Tate in this movie and William Macy was just William Macy. 10/10

8/10 code 187 = malicious intentions, or were these just coincidences - you decide. Excellent start and continues to grip you through out. Great cast, soundtrack and well directed. Recommend.
