was told this adaptation was far too ‘hollywood’ by my teacher. i actually thoroughly enjoyed it. and as someone who has studied the book, it is very accurate to source material. genuinely the best adaptation.

despite having very heavy dialogue that I struggled to understand, had a good time watching this. One has to be in a certain mood to watch a bleak, dark Shakespeare adaptation.

Starts off slow with some interesting adaptation methods, but develops into an amazing cinematic representation of Shakespeare with a flawless, god-like performance from Fassbender.

Macbeth disappoints with a slow narrative and pretentious direction. Despite Fassbender's strong performance, the film lacks energy and emotional impact, making it an uninspiring adaptation of Shakespeare's masterpiece.

What?

As someone who had to study this in school for GCSE. That is not the best presentation of what happens in the play.I do understand that it is a movie and not a play, so they will add or take some things from the original, but some things have to stay the same. Like having ONLY THREE witches

Another movie I read for English this year. A lot of the brutality is highlighted in this film very well, but other than that, I found this watch to be pretty boring. Acting is whatever, and the landscapes look the same everywhere. Maybe I just don’t like Shakespeare
