Cinematography is so good that it makes you forget that you are watching pedophilia

despite being a mainstream movie, wes anderson still achieved that vintage indie vibe. although it was a bit long and i found the character dynamic rather boring, i still liked the movie’s vibrant color palette and cinematic parallels. however, i’m still confused by the title…

This is one of the worst films I have ever seen, after Moonlight. I cannot believe Paul Thomas Anderson directed this crapfest.
The female lead looks over 30 and the male lead is supposed to be 15.
The plot? It did not really have a plat. It was all over the place.

Cool, maybe dragged out a little bit. The writing kept getting sloppier in the second half, and it didn't seem to have a specific destination. but i guess that's the point. 3/5

this is trying to come off as “cool” like how the almost famous movie gave off effortless charm but it fails mostly. it’s bad enough to center the plot around a relationship between a 25 year old woman & 15 year old kid but the cherry on top is that they’re insufferable.

Surprisingly very good! I heard all of the “what if the roles were reversed!?” And yes it’s quite strange for these days but Alana acknowledged this, set clear boundaries to just be friends, and was basically reversed groomed because the HS kid had more shit together than she did

HAIM HAIM HAIM I love Haim so much they were all amazing in this as were the rest of the cast - the vibes of this film are good and I want to watch it again BUT…I wasn’t really rooting for the leads to get together because of the age gap and also felt they weren’t right 2tegther?

i watched this like a few years ago but i want to reiterate how much i hate this movie. this fucking sucks the lady in this movie is fucking sick in the head. the movie looked kinda pretty but that’s the only redeeming quality. my form of torture would be watching this again

Age Gap was a no-no, and it could have been reduced to something a lot more acceptable, like 15 and 17. The story wasn't the most cohesive, and it felt a little anticlimactic, but they portrayed the falling in and out aspect of a romance really well, and a slice of the 70s

idrk how i sat through all 2 hrs of this movie. it’s not even the age gap that bothers me (even tho it’s weird, i understand it’s relevant to the plot) but literally it’s only redeeming quality is the soundtrack. was pretty boring

I was really intrigued to see this when I first saw the trailer for it, unfortunately I overhyped this in my head. Both Gary and Alana are horrible people that don’t know what they want and their weird relationship makes me not care if they end up together or not!

quietly really sad and creepy, but it doesn’t lean into that enough. i love PTA and liked this movie ok but it ultimately is taking the unfocused and all-encompassing period capturing style of Boogie Nights too far.

The story was alright.
I mostly watching it because it was young kids living in the 70s.
I like seeing all the actors i recognize in it.
I noticed John C. Reilly was the Frankenstein monster….it was strange I didn’t see that character more in it…like he only had one line.

Probably not something I’ll ever watch again. I like the style and the camera work, but the story is very aimless and the dynamic between Alana and Gary is just plain weird. Bradley Cooper was pretty funny in it though

“Hi”…”Hi”
I love a running/chase end scene but this young hustler and his 25/28 year old “not girlfriend” were slowly loosing me.
