Better vampire romance than Twilight. Deadly and grim rather than a typical genre entry. Also revolves around adolescence and coming of age. Isolating, dramatic, and still feels fresh years later.

lots of cool ethical dilemmas. look out for the creature that searches for new boy murderers. Wish they didn't focus on a romance between the two but I get that it is supposed to be uncomfortable.

So yall are just cool with pedophilia? Not only did this movie sexualize children and have a full frame child genital shot (which should be more than enough reason to not watch), it was also incredibly bland and uninteresting. The way this movie has such high ratings is insane to me. Even those focusing on the “love story” is crazy because again, it’s a 200 year old woman and a 12 year old child. The ONLY interesting thing in this movie is the subplot with the woman who gets infected. Her performance was great. Otherwise, it’s a disgusting mess.
