5.79/10. I’m sorry I really wanted to like this. But there is just too much singing for me. The overall story is great and acting is great too. But there’s only like 10 lines in a 2.5 hour movie that just normal speaking. Broadway shows have less singing than this.

Les Misérables

Despite its faults, the story of "Les Misérables" is timeliness for a reason. There is something special about Claude-Michel Schönberg's music that makes you stand up to attention which makes the film enjoyable in spite of its imperfections.

Les Misérables

Not as good as the original play, that’s for sure. Russel Crowe is not good in this movie, Hugh Jackman could’ve damaged his vocal chords from dehydration, and the director of this movie thought it would be a good idea to record the singing live (he went on to direct Cats).

I love musicals, so of course I loved the music in this movie. No where near perfect and Russell Crowe’s voice is something else, man. Dude was a confusing casting choice, that’s for sure.

I love this movie. It is so dramatic and sad and interesting. I love musicals and they are basically singing the whole time in this movie. There are so many good actors and singers in this movie.

Les Misérables

amazing cast and amazing cinematography, but also amazing soundtrack. i gotta say that i didn’t enjoy much the fact that there was basically no talking and everything was sung, but i understand the concept so i still appreciate it. beautiful, would love to watch it live.

Les Misérables

It was so boring and difficult to follow. It was just 2:37:00 of singing and that’s to much. There’s no word that is just said it is all singing. I don’t know how i watched this whole movie. I’m glad that i’ve seen it ones so that I don’t have to do it twice because it is boring!

i appreciate the film and the complexity of the plot but the amount of singing/songs in it was a bit too overwhelming for me. i think i would’ve definitely appreciated it more if i liked musicals more but im not sure if i would rewatch (also based on the length of the film)

objectively good story and well made.

couldn’t handle the CONSTANT singing, and the runtime felt way too long.

This is my favorite musical production of all time. I own the PBS special, I’ve seen it live at Royal Albert Hall in London, and watched it so many times digitally Apple has probably considered renegotiating monthly access fees. Hugh Jackman is stunning, Anne Hathaway at her best
