Leave the World Behind Reviews

This film has its moments but is ultimately not worth 2.5 hours of your time. It has poor pacing, a fluctuating tone, and some of the dialogue & story-beats are cringe asf. Not to mention, nothing really happens. It had potential. Do yourself a favor and leave this film behind.

The scenario had potential but I expected something bigger at the end:/ very boring end with no answer to our questions

Just read some of the comments here and this movie definitely went over a lot of peoples heads, and that a former President was a Producer on this film just makes if more of a What If…. This movie also reminded me of “Ref Dawn”

I liked it a lot, but not enough to love it. Worth the watch if you like the mystery of it. Plus the actors are great of course. Just felt like a things were missing🤷‍♂️

Worst ending I think I’ve ever seen

OH MY GOD??? IM GONNA HAVE NIGHTMARES BUT IM IN LOVE.

i really enjoyed this. the writing and acting made all the characters feel very authentic and it was interesting to see how they each grapple differently with the apocalyptic setting. also captured interpersonal dynamics really well. no criticisms honestly.

WOW!!! This is one of the best apocalyptic movies, it shows the real horror of doomsday and the end of the world. It feels timely & real, and grounded in reality. Down to the acting, cinematography & score this is yet another home run for Netflix!!

Great film, my eyes were peeled to the screen but I heard it was directed by Michelle and Barrack Obama and that freaks me out😚

HORRID WASTE OF TIME.

I personally really like the film. I recommend people should watch it because it’s showing what’s going on in the world today, giving us hints on what might happen.

Decent suspenseful thriller in the beginning and middle but kinda lost its footing towards the end and then didn’t stick the landing. The score is the main star here, performances were all solid and believable.

Honestly had all the ingredients, was at times gripping. With a 2.5 hour runtime, you expect it to build to something. But it just felt like the writers didn't know how to end it... so just didn't.

Really really solid Netflix movie. Enjoyed this way more than I expected. Fun light doomsday thriller that has you guessing what’s up. Nice little movie night watch that, like most Netflix originals, is an easy watch

the only people that hate this are those who are too incompetent to understand what it is actually telling us.

This was so good.

A solid thriller that begins with a bang, founded in a metaphor for global warming, and tacks on further by letting basically all of American society’s worst fears come to life. Not different from very many other apocalyptic story lines, but this one ends a bit too abruptly.

Interesting and thought provoking

7.6 - A mixed bag. Overdone camerawork, tonally inconsistent music, & overwritten dialogue all annoyed me. It handholds the audience a lot. But in the end, I was satisfied. I liked what it had to say & the slight ambiguity of the end. Slow burn psych drama is just my thing.
