Lady in the Water
The entire movie acts as a vessel for a guide to M Night's own films and how to watch them. Not everything is as it seems right in front of you, look beyond the surface, ask questions, analyze the image. Most of the time, there is more content than what meets the eye

It’s a movie based on a bedtime story, so I don’t take it seriously. The acting is better than the script deserves.

Lady in the Water
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I thought the blend between fairy tale and real life was a great concept, but not blended as well as I would have liked. The monkeys were dumb and pulled me out.

It was interesting. The concept was really good but the writing failed it. The movie couldn’t decide what it wanted to be - meta commentary on movies? A fun fantasy story? A drama about grief and loss? A comedy? It tried to do all of those and failed to be anything special
