Amazing flashback storytelling that makes you completely forget there is a narrator throughout. I am a bit thrown off by the use of the n word at the end of the film, as it came out of completely nowhere and makes 0 sense logically. Is this just me?

Really funny but not in the way you’d expect. Feels experimental even for today’s standards. Alec Guinness is really great and he plays this sly and calculating character very well. It’s excellently structured and is paced to perfection. Very fun experience

very amusing in a very old fashioned way. no big laughs but very well written and actually amusing story line. slow pace but doesn’t feel like a snail. alex guiness does a very good job of playing so many characters. immaculate tailoring if tight at the waist
