Very good film. Not at all single point throughout the film was I bored or lost focus of the plot. I did not read the book but I felt like I have after watching this. I recommend watching this for the higher intellect individuals.🙏🏻

Killers of the Flower Moon
Background:
The Osage indians were pushed to Oklahoma to live in reserves. They discovered oil but had mineral rights so they got crazy rich on the oil. But the government declared a white guardian had to manage the funds of those they deemed “incompetent” which was most of the osage. The guardians control their money like a POA, but inherit the money when their osage person dies. So this caused a lot of murder of osage people know as the reign of terror. The murders were not investigated because of the whites paying people off. Eventually the FBI was created by J Edgar Hoover and the Osage murder cases were one of their first cases.
Ernest Buckhart (Leo):
is back from WWI with nothing to his name. He is dumb, and easy to mold. He does what people tell him and trusts a lot of people. His uncle King Hale (De Niro) is the master mind behind the deaths. His uncle molds him and manipulates him into helping him with the murders. He participates in murdering his osage wife’s family and even poisoning his own wife with fake insulin. He figured something was up with it but kept doing it anyway because his uncle said it was best. He loved his wife but ultimately was weak and stayed loyal to his uncle who gave him belonging and stability. His uncle was able to convince him the poison was helping her. In the back of his mind you can tell he knew it might be hurting her, but he refuses to face that reality and keeps doing it anyway. Out of curiosity he even puts some of the insulin in his drink, so he’d clearly know it was poison by how it made him feel. In the end at their trial he realizes he was doing wrong, goes against his uncle and sticks by his family. However when confronted by his wife, she asks him what he was giving her. She’s lost everything and just wants the truth. He clearly knows it was poison as she is now better after not taking it, but he’s still weak and not strong enough to admit it. He lies and says it was insulin, and she leaves in disgust
Movie:
overall great movie, a little too long and a little too slow of a build but I really was invested and hanging on every word. Leo’s character was fascinating to me and so real. And De Niro was really great.

One of the best movies I have ever seen. The cast is phenomenal and the plot is very intriguing and interesting considering the duration of the movie.

Killers of the Flower Moon
I understand the significance of portraying this time in American history and I think the overall plot is good. It just felt like a dialogue heavy movie with “action” scenes sprinkled in. I think Leo does great and De Niro is awesome, but it just lost my interest the further it went along. It is long and that’s not my main problem, there’s plenty of long movies that I love, it just felt for 3 and a half hours nothing really mattered until the end. I don’t know, open to other insights, but won’t rewatch for awhile.
