Glad I stumbled on this underrated gem. It’s simple, but the way they deliver it is what makes it so attractive (the main lead too, hehe). The tension, the villain, the creep factor—it’s all palpable.

a way to start summerween movie night. i liked the film’s aesthetic and how a prank slowly spirals into something much bigger and more disturbing. i guess the point is you never know who you’re dealing with, and that a harmless joke can turn dangerous

John Dahl’s good direction can’t save this silly and pitiful b-movie. Aside from Steven Zahn’s, the rest of the performances are very artificial and stilted. Then there’s no sense of logic in the script. It’s painfully obvious this is a 2000s thriller geared towards teens.

Watched this one when I was a teenager and rewatched recently. One of the few movie that stressed the hell out of me. The story is original and there is some very stressful scenes. Well done!

A great thriller, it’s as if you took Smokey and the Bandit and made it into a horror. Very well written and directed.
