Is there a story to follow? Not really. Would i have minded if it were 3 hours? Also no. Is this exactly my kinda movie? Yeah. Sweet, slow, and intimate.

I’m from western mass and my 6th grade teacher looked so much like Avi it 1) made me feel insane, then 2) made me question if Avi was somehow based on said teacher.

This movie feels like it’s lingering in my soul. I felt so immersed inside Janet’s planet, into her life. Ultimately it’s a film about motherhood and the difficulties of Janet connecting with her daughter Lacy. It’s slow, but also steady and thoughtful.

i would’ve liked just a little more from this, but it captures its intended aesthetic well. the performances from the mother and daughter are indeed exceptional, carrying the film alongside an on-point script with many thoughtful lines. will deeply resonate with some

Despite not much plot, I found myself very engaged in this movie. Every scene with Janet and Lacy I wanted to go on forever. Though there were some moments I didn’t totally understand, the vibes were everything and Ziegler was absolutely phenomenal. I also loved the dramatically long shots that lingered on such seemingly insignificant moments. Something about it really spoke to me.

So boring, will not be rewatching!

5.2 - Everything about this is set up for it to be a banger for me.

A precarious parental child relationship (with fantastic acting by Zoe Ziegler), nostalgia for the 90s, understated humor, & an overall chill vibe. But the lack of true story & any meaningful depth really made it difficult to keep my attention. I ended up way more bored than entertained, despite knowing I was watching something fairly well crafted.

Meh for now but likely worth a future 2nd chance.

This movie was so slow and absolutely nothing happens. Waste of my time.

3.1/10 really disliked this movie. There was no part of the plot that grabbed me. I understand it was suppose to be how the kid grew up in a strange situation and learned everything from her moms mistakes but it was carried out the correct way (like the Florida project did it)

Took me an entire day to process my emotions and the themes of this film. Heartbreaking, raw and captured the feeling of being young and sheltered. Phenomenal performances and a beautiful ending.
