Starting my Tom Clancy binge. I expected a gripping thriller, but the generic plot left me underwhelmed.

What Worked:
• Pine brings a great, grounded energy. The reluctant analyst thrown into the fire really works for me.
• Branagh’s Cherevin brings a nice, cold menace.
• Doyle’s score gave a driving rhythm that kept my adrenaline up.

The Friction:
• The action felt flat. The set pieces lacked that edge-of-your-seat thrill for me.
• The “fiancée flies to Moscow” subplot really dragged for me, slowing down the actual espionage stuff.
• The final act wraps up way too easily. I honestly wanted a complex chess game, not a basic ending.

Verdict:
Watch this if you just want a breezy, straightforward spy flick for a lazy weekend. Skip it if you’re looking for the deep, complex political intrigue of the older Clancy adaptations.
