such a cozy and comforting film! the chemistry between Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page was so natural and charming. it’s definitely cliché and cheesy, but what romcom isn’t?! the Black joy throughout was just the cherry on top, and the humor definitely had me giggling.

If a random cartoon romance book cover got turned into a movie it would be this. It was cute for what it was but otherwise unremarkable. Still it was a fun watch and Halle Bailey is so beautiful, all her outfits ate.

A good cringey romcom that honestly reminds me of the romcoms from the earlier 2000’s. I loved the family and Anna’s relationship with them and their shared love for cooking. The food looked so good, like can I please have some.

Baby, it was ROUGH in the beginning and not in a good way. The editing and acting were giving, and you're watching Disney Channel ✨, but it got tolerable and better later on as it picked up pace, or maybe I just acclimated to the film's style. Actually, yeah, that’s it. Also, why tf are you giving me your sad backstory in an awful, old montage editing style, just to reshare it 10 minutes later? Yep, that’s me, you’re probably wondering how I got here… but regardless, I pulled up for Page, and that’s all I needed, and also keep the taxi driver, he’s the new bestie, hmmmmmm 6/10?

this is so cringy but it’s halle so whatevs

This was a new take on While You Were Sleeping. I thought it was cute, and enjoyed the movie. Regé-Jean Page can surprisingly sing, and Halle Bailey still can’t. A girl going into the bathroom after the movie gave it a 10 out of 10. I wouldn’t say that, but it was cute.

Ok this was TOO corny… I’m all for a corny romcom but the editing was Disney Channel, the jokes were 1980s dated, and the movie ends with a DANCE NUMBER. I thought we collectively decided to stop doing that?

I wanted to watch a cheesy European getaway, and Halle Bailey in a rom-com felt like a win. I love this; it’s a cozy Italian escape charming enough to make you forget the crazy fake-fiancé setup.

What Worked:
• Bailey and Page have sweet, effortless chemistry anchoring the wild family chaos.
• The massive food spreads and Amalfi Coast backdrops made me want to book a flight.
• The bustling Costa family energy felt genuine, especially in the kitchen scenes.

The Friction:
• The “squatting and pretending to be the fiancé” bit stretched too long and stressed me out.
• Matteo’s sudden flip to causing drama at the end felt super rushed to me.

Verdict:
I love it. Watch for a warm Italian romance. Skip if fake identity plots give you second-hand embarrassment.

The exact kind of bad cheesy romcom that has you rolling your eyes at the characters but enjoying nonetheless. Dialogue was hilariously bad-design and location was gorgeous!

8/10 typically do not love romance but this modern romance I loved! It took a typical concept and made it infused with culture, representation and more realistic outcomes of romance. Plus everyone was gorgeous, sweet story!
