Independence Day: Resurgence Reviews

There are flashes of fun in this sequel. It expands the universe and showing humanity unified on a larger, more futuristic scale but to me it doesn’t match the first film’s magic, it works as a loud, popcorn sci-fi sequel.

If it wasn't for the dialogue, drama, and characters, this would have been a hit. The tension to jaw-dropping ratio is so perfectly balanced. I was intrigued even though the plot was predictable. It unfortunately felt too much like a tv sitcom, but the alien execution and score was astonishing. I could only imagine the terror in those moments, but then it cut to the humans being understandably idiotic. Also, more people should have died. Once certain people survive for the 9th time, it gets annoying. I'd only recommend it if you like sci-fi alien stuff where humanity is at risk.

A needless sequel that falls flat on its face. I don’t remember too much about it, but enough to remember it’s pants!

8/10 Really enjoyed this film for what it is, It finishes with the ideal of a third!. The special effect were good although the end scenes did seem a bit blue screen. Although the story is pretty much the same as the first it’s slightly move on with the tech. Recommended.

Awesome sequel about a alien invasion.

A poor sequel that tried to capitalize on a film that didn’t require a sequel and poorly delivered. The only plot points were 1) what if everything was bigger, and 2) what if the aliens were easier to defeat? Characterization was shallow and underdeveloped. 4/10 at best.

A pretty good sequel; nice concept and good delivery. Some old characters along with some new ones. Great visual effects, and cool battle scenes. Definitely a good watch.

It was cool. I don’t think it was as good as the first one, but it was still good honestly I didn’t think that Independence Day needed a sequel and I still don’t think it needed a sequel

The first one was truly amazing, can't say the same about this.

Did not live up to the first one, but that would be difficult without Will Smith. Still good entertainment and connection to first movie. There could be continuation and hopefully done well!

Hard to rate this movie because on one side it has a flat and foreseeable plot but on the contrary it’s a good movie to get your mind of and just enjoy some fiction for a while 🤔

Jesus Christ man… this is only the second film I’ve given this bottom rating along with Madame Web, there’s genuinely zero redeeming qualities about any element of this. I refuse to believe anyone gave a single fuck about what they were apart of, every line is written as poorly as it’s delivered, zero coherence to any of the story telling, editing is a shambles with people teleporting from China to London in the matter of sheer seconds… Roland Emmerich is such a loser chasing the coattails of his middling success last century.

I think this movie JUST about turned a profit, it deserved to lose millions. I just don’t understand how any of important enough looked at this and was like “yeah Roland man, this is great stuff right here!” Schmucks…
