The animation for this was incredible! Definitely one of my favorite styles so far. Especially the change in animation in certain scenes 😮‍💨, it really made the anime. I was wondering what the ending reminded me of and I finally remember, it’s really giving Challengers 😂

9/10; this movie was fr great, like they did a great job at keeping you in, and the story was just beautiful.

Such a raw, real, and impactful film. I love how fluid & unique the animation was + the camerawork, it all felt so authentic. Acknowledging the mental stress athletes go through, how it shapes both their performance and identity, and how to overcome it was a powerful message.

9/10 Wish I could’ve watched this all at once for the first time as my flight landed so I had to pause it lol. What a surprise film about a really specific sport, I used to love running the 100M and 200M when I was younger so I connected a bit in some parts and miss it. The story is very true and shows different characters throughout while maintaining a true main character and showcasing his struggles. The animation was also great with the blend of rotoscoping.

a refreshing story on change, frustration, passion, and identity. the initial sweet beginning turns into something unnerving like when one’s light starts to fade. great lessons were learned and taught from all kinds of characters which only deepened their development.

I love visually unique anime and wanted an inspiring weekend watch. I absolutely love this; the fluid rotoscoped animation elevates this track rivalry.

What Worked:
• The rotoscoped animation totally amazed me, making the sprints feel visceral.
• Togashi and Komiya’s long rivalry anchored the emotional weight for me.
• Tsutsumi’s score perfectly captures the adrenaline rush of the races.

The Friction:
• The ten-year time jump felt abrupt and glossed over character growth.
• Side characters like Zaitsu got sidelined by 3rd act, leaving their arcs unresolved.
• The ambiguous freeze-frame ending frustrated me; I just wanted a definitive winner.

Verdict:
I absolutely love this. Watch for breathtaking animation. Skip if ambiguous endings annoy you.

It was good but sometimes boring. Komiya was getting on my nerves but I liked he had a goal. who won the final race..?

i loved the animation style it was so different and confusing but in a good way; iv never seen it bfo.
the story itself was good but i felt it was slightly dull.
a good movie regardless and i loved watching it 7/10

Has hype moments and aura

The artstyle caught me off so bad I had to drop it

you'll never see such passion, crazy transitions and amazing graphics as you will in any sports anime, that's for sure

This rocked, I fucking love everything about this movie. They somehow make running in a straight line for 10 seconds so goddam engaging. I thought the animation was outstanding, seriously those rotoscoping shots with the dynamic movement and rain, it all worked beautifully. Such a great story as well, it’s just a super solid film, if you like sports you’ll love this and if you love running then this might be your favourite movie ever

VERY GOOD!! i think my fav part is how when they are children they have actual kid voice actors instead of adults making their voice as high pitch as possible. also the animation is very good!! love the techniques they use.

Im probably not the target audience storyline wise but the animation and the music is remarkably well done
