House of Darkness Reviews

A lot of people are pointing out how little happens in this movie and that it is incredibly boring. I had the opposite experience. Yes, there is not a lot of action here. But the dialogue is so fascinating and uncomfortable, with so much to unpack, that I was glued to the screen. When the action gets going, I thought, “damn, how are they going to keep this pace for another 30-40 minutes to finish the movie?” to look at my phone and see there were only 5 minutes left. For not much happening, I thought it was incredibly paced.

Filmmaking aside, the story is ok. A bit predictable, and if you ask me, a bit harsh on Long’s character. It feels that a lot of the questionable things he says, he is lead into saying by Mina. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a tool. But one that is not as sinister as the movie makes him out to be.

That being said, long live Justin Long, I will watch anything you’re in. You are so funny.

Another fun but horrific gem that Justin Long brings to us. Obv not a unique or original but great performances and cast for a single location film.

I’m all for a slow burn, but this movie was 88 minutes of Justin Long being awkward.🙄

Fun to see these two as leads together, but overall just an okay watch

Interesting horror style in this movie, I liked it. Pretty creepy and the ending is the most exciting part. Definitely was too long and slow leading up to it though. I love Kate Bosworth & Justin Long acting together, their chemistry is great (should be since they’re engaged lol)

I don't know why this is classified as a comedy. It was creepy to watch. Honestly the second hand embarrassment was worse than anything. It had some creepy moments and I enjoyed watching it.

Fun vampire film. A little predictable but the journey to end was fun and enticing.

I know this movie was supposed to be like “yayyy girl power!” But it honestly made me want to claw my eyes out. I disliked it so much I swore infront of my own mother 😭

I almost thumbs downed this one. It was just one really long weird date. But the end was cool
