House of 1000 Corpses retains a chokehold of tension across its entire near 90 minute runtime. A nasty, depraved film full of masterful editing and twisted cinematography make for a horrifying introduction to Mr Zombie’s greasy, grindhouse style. 9.9/10

DR SATAN!!!

Disturbing in every way with bizarre characters and atmosphere. It’s camp and aesthetic, as long as you don’t mind a little gore. The editing is what I loved the most. It also has all the negatives; weak narrative, underdeveloped characters, while being messy and disjointed.

What an absolute batshit crazy movie, will definitely keep you entertained

Anfangs relativ langweilig aber als wir dann zum Haus kommen geht es Horror und Splatter-technisch ganz schön zur Sache. Der Film hat eine relativ simple Story und konzentriert sich auf brutale Verstümmelungen und verrückte Mörder. Dr. Satan selbst war dann relativ unspektakulär.

🟡Is it all over the place? Yes. Does the whole Doctor Satan storyline amount to a pretty confusing ending? Totally. However, this gave me everything I needed in the hillbilly-horror-trashy-trippy-70s-backwoods department, which filled my TCM-loving heart with joy. Baby rules! 🔴

This is one of the most deranged movies I have ever seen in my life, proceed with caution. However, I do love the character Captain Spaulding, he is quite entertaining and hilarious. If not for him I may not have watched the other films after this.

First half is good, got really sick of Baby and her mom and really stopped caring about everyone. Chop top is better, wish Dr. Spaulding was in it more, would have been a more interesting watch throughout. Rob Zombie has a really fun editing style

If you like gore then this is the movie for you. I like scary movies that have more story telling or a significant antagonist to focus on, this feels like gore and violence thrown together and hoped for the best. I know a lot of ppl do like this movie though, so give it a try

Love Rob Zombie and his films, extremely biased 🥹😭

rob zombie movies are so chaotic and all over the place but i love them. this one is special since it is his debut film, and it’s iconic. i do, however, wish he would get someone other than his wife to play his female leads.

this is one of my favorite horror movies!

You know, I really did expect to like this, because on the surface it's everything I love in a movie... but my god what a shit experience. Honestly, just take the entire story away, leave the deaths and the gore, and the movie would've been so much more enjoyable

I really like the set design and the way it was edited at times and the circus aesthetic at times but it kinda fell flat to me overal. I didn’t like any of the characters and there’s not really much of a plot other than characters make stupid choice to visit sketch house and die
