Loved this movie when it came out. Upon rewatch it does not hold up… at all.

A unique opportunity for a reboot. If done well could be a classic.

They had the money, the names, the material, the effects (sort of), the soundtrack... they basically had all the ingredients to cook up a classic. Unfortunately, they overcooked it and created an epileptic nightmare. Far too loud. Far too flashy. Far too long. Far too sloppy. The upcoming remake has all the potential it can. It has the director, the stunts, the music, and the cast. I just hope they don't overcook or even undercook it.

I can see the appeal, but aside from the Queen soundtrack, everything else seemed dull and rusty. 1/5

Not sure why this is a cult classic when nothing is done competently, and it’s too poorly paced and written to be entertaining. One of the worst lead performances I’ve ever seen. Excited to see what the Henry Cavill remake can do with the idea though

Oh my gosh that was sooooo bad. Did anybody else see the wire holding him up in the final battle haha? How did that make it in the final cut and how did nobody just scrap this whole movie. 3/10

Has some strange writing & acting in here, and can be cheesy, but there's a few good fights, and the flashbacks with Ramirez are a highlight. There's some poignant aspects to McLeod's characterization, but nothing too special.
Oh, but at least now I know what happened to my car in the parking garage that one night.

Watching it again after about 20yrs, it doesn’t quite hold up as much as I remember it. Still a great story though.

What’s not to love.

Looking forward to the Cavill remake which should be coming out soon

Definitely, the special effects are very old, but the story is original.

Interesting concept: immortals bound by fate & combat, kill each other until only one remains. The dual timelines give it flavor & Queen’s soundtrack elevates everything. Connor is a compelling enough lead & the swordplay feels mythic. It’s rough around the edges but imaginative.

Back in the day I loved this movie. It’s a cult classic. “There Can be only one! “ I made it 1/2 way through omg it’s terrible. There are just certain movies you shLd not revisit bc it will not be the same experience AT ALL. 🫣🥺😭 There should be only one .. there are 5. WHY?
