High Tension

ahhh please don’t look up any spoilers for this movie or anything— it was so thrilling. i was clenching my seat with anxiety the entire time, it was an absolute blast. put this on if you are looking to be genuinely frightened!

Brilliant tension in the first two acts. Where I feel like this kind of falls apart, though, is act three. The beginning is so well-paced and eerie with so much dread, and it then turns into more of an action/chase sequence, which left me feeling quite bored toward the end.

Also, the twist. I love it in concept. I think it is such a fun idea that takes a standard slasher and makes it new and intriguing. Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t really make any sense when looking at earlier scenes. If it was done more methodically, I think it would have been fantastic. But it feels a little phoned in.

I do, however, love the final scene on the road. It is so well-acted and incredibly intense and heartbreaking. I think it caps off the movie well.
