enjoyed it! (: super exciting & stylish film, tho obviously repetitive. pretty much a blueprint of the type of lighthearted scary movies i like. i used to hate the idea of slasher comedies until i found ones like this, and now i have many favorites like scary movie, tuck & dale.

One of my favorite horror movies. It combines horror and humor so well!

Jessica Rothe is perfect for this film. She has the right amount of comedy but will make a scene have a deep meaning with her acting. Rothe can make you hate her for one minute and then like her the next. I ship carter and tree sue me. 5/5 stars.

Good lord. This was so boring. So hard to sit through; it took me ages to watch it. I didn’t enjoy anything about this movie except for Carter, he was very cute. I wouldn’t watch this ever again. I do not recommend it. Goodbye. Happy Death Day.

Happy Death Day isn't particularly scary, and clearly isn't meant to be - the pleasure lies in the games it plays with its basic storyline, along the way tossing in enough offbeat humour and whodunnit twists to keep us entertained.

Forgettable

The longer I got into it, the more enjoyability it lost. The only real positives I have for this are the 3 or 4 funny scenes, other than that it's mostly negative. I'm not one for groundhog day type tropes, for a horror movie though...it sounds intresting. I see the inspiration from other films and it still doesn't work because nothing makes sense and the harder I try to find sense, the more confusing it gets. Casting was forgettable, pacing was boring, comedy was meh, horror was non existent, romance was dead, and plot twists were lackluster. Has zero rewatchability, I don't even want to watch the sequel.

This movie is so bad. Do not watch this movie. I know the premise of a Grounghog day slasher sounds cool, but the execution is horrible. I also watched the sequel which isn’t as bad, but is still atrocious. Truly one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Not at all worth your time

It’s okay for something to just put on . I wouldn’t recommend to someone looking for a good scary movie

I queued this to see if a Groundhog Day slasher gimmick actually works. I love this; a clever time-loop puzzle with a surprisingly heartfelt redemption arc.

The Director's Eye (What Worked):
• Rothe shines, shifting from an unlikable mean girl to a rootable hero.
• The baby mask gives the killer a distinct, creepy personality.
• Landon keeps it fresh; each death is a clue, not just gory spectacle.

The Friction (What Didn't Click for Me):
• The PG-13 rating hurts; kills feel bloodless as it cuts away too fast.
• The motive reveal relies on a weak exposition dump at the finish line.

The Verdict:
I love it. Watch for a clever twist. Skip if you need hardcore horror.

It’s very cheesy and corny, but it’s definitely entertaining.

wasn't expecting to actually somewhat like this

pretty good movie, enjoyed the plot and the comedy was actually funny. also the twist at the end, i did not see it coming honestly

this was a fun movie. this movie incorporates slasher/horror, comedy and a twist at the end. would recommend if you haven’t watched yet
