I surprisingly loved this play, i don’t normally like Shakespearean plays :/

Honestly so great. Read the play and then watched this film all in high school. Good times

Laertes looks exactly like paul rudd

extremely long and visually pretty dull, but honest to the source material and will probably please most shakespeare enthusiasts. i’m indifferent to this adaptation but happy that it exists

An amazing retelling. Actually made me so infatuated with Shakespeare. This is a lovely work of art and a beautiful homage. Just stunning and brilliant.

The only thing I have to say is that the treatment of women during that period (the 16th century) was awful, and that Kenneth Branagh absolutely killed it with his performance

I kind of love this movie and I don’t know why. Kate Winslett kills it in this. Obviously, the writing was groundbreaking at the time. Branaugh’s direction and performance were very human. Idk if a movie like this requires a number score. It’s beautiful tho

This is actually really good. Shakespeare continues to remain the best playwright of all time and he proves it in this. MacBeth, Much Ado About Nothing, and Hamlet are all favorites of mine among the Shakespeare plays. I think it’s safe to say he’s a genius. 8/10

Reading Shakespeare can be complicated & it's hard to picture some parts of the story. This movie is a good visual of the book. Although some scenes are hit or miss, the overall effect is of a potent story.
