Harmony Korine’s “masterpiece(?)” depicting rural Deep South characters. Makes you wonder if there was a script or if this is a documentary. Hard to watch due to its graphic non-horror visions. Just… very unique to see the least.

this movie is just… so strange. i can’t even form a coherent thought about it; I marked it dislike just bc i have such a fuzzy opinion

to enjoy film is to accept and appreciate it in its rawest and most artistic form. depending on who you ask, gummo is either unwatchable garbage or a true masterpiece, but its bold direction and incredibly impactful aesthetic cannot be denied or understated. not for closed minds

Greasiest movie I’ve ever watched. The movie is so random and has somewhat of a scary feel to it and the big Ned looking kid said “life is great without it you’d be dead” and I thought that was a goo quote. And the 2 lil emo girls with no eyebrows were dope.

This movie feels raw and closer to real life than any full length film I’ve watched before it. It really just feels like a collection of home videos that depict the grounded grit and grime of the truly rural. It is uncomfortable and troubling but there is still a sort of beauty

yeah did not like this. it was pretty mid imo, i dont feel like they really captured their vision. not as disturbing as everyone says but not like, really that interesting or enjoyable to watch

there really isn’t a rating on this app for this movie because i definitely didn’t LOVE watching this, rather i despised watching this. but it is so effective in what it’s trying to be that i feel obligated to appreciate it

Harmony Korine will never top this. Charming yet chaotic. Funny yet unsettling. Fantastic cast of characters within a beautifully rundown environment accompanied by one of the greatest film soundtracks. An absolute must watch.

This is a hard watch but can be very interesting if you have right mindset going into it. It’s not a traditional movie. It’s a slice of life and there is no point to it other than showing you have different people can live.

What a helluva movie ! Beside the animal cruelty, insane quality of living, and inappropriate things that never end it’s decent. Do like the way everything is shot though but goddamn the bath water 😫🤮🤮

Disturbing imagery, non actors, real sets, and the depressing life of citizens in Xenia Ohio. One word comes to mind, purposelessness. Honestly seeing the bathtub scene reminded me of an animal or a primitive human. Definitely made me think, 4/10🍝

This movie has changed my brain chemistry.
