I was not entertained.
This movie was literally only swordporn with quotes it stole from the first movie and lots of promising plot lines leading absolutely nowhere. Also love the fact that the only thing female characters are there for is dying an unnecessarily death

But what will happen to Dondas?

Just came back from watching the film. And Paul mescal is one hot man DAMNNNNNNN.

09/10 - intertwined with the first so continues the story. All good acting - special effects believable and superb. Will go back for more.

conflicted … i enjoyed the film … was it a bit cringe yeah at times partly cuz i couldn’t take paul seriously + PREDICTABLE … BUT the action was good… when emperor geta pops it they could’ve made his head ACTUALLY look like him 😭😭 chuckled at HAIL DUNDUS !!! 🐵 + hello matt lucas🍿

I’d watch Gladiator again, but probably not Gladiator 2. Some scenes lacked logic. Loved the intro though, I was instantly captivated. Great actors, although somehow I didn’t enjoy Connie N.
VERY graphic scenes, too much.

A barbarian to rate, I want to give it praise for the rare Ridley Scott scale, but it has a very bad case of 'on-the-spot plot' and connecting itself to the first does more damage than good. Quotes, costumes, combat, and a colosseum of CGI animals, I love it all. Ridley solidified his stance on accuracy when he simply said "You weren't there", and I agree. Although, like with 'Napoleon', it peaks at action and tumbles during conversation. I would have loved if it went deeper into the very prevalent politics instead of showcasing a straight-up circus. Overall, the metaphors and messages lift the rating. Oh, and Dondus.

At 86 years old, Ridley Scott directed another epic!

It's an eye-popping, barbaric, sword-and-sandal, cinematic spectacle, featuring ferocious baboons, a saddled rhino and savage sharks... along with scene-stealing Denzel Washington, who should get a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.

This was perfection. Exquisite, if you will. This shit was good as hell. I loved the freaky ginger emperors.

This movie was really close to a 👍🏼 from me, as it had amazing fights, an amazing setting, great set pieces, great costume designs, amazing imagery. But the story honestly felt like a bad fan fiction, completely ruins the legacy of the first movie imo.

Not bad. The action was viscerally satisfying. In a lot of ways this more intricate plot is more of the same, holding on to familiar cliches but all the new elements are things I enjoyed and liked unpacking (wrath & the master’s tools). It just doesn’t commit consistently to…

The most interesting thing about this movie was the couple making out in front of me in the theatre like teenagers. They were 40.

But I didn’t know Paul Mescal was hot until I watched this.
