Get Away
One of those that requires patience, and ends up being so worth it. I went in blind, following Nick Frost and Aisling Bea. I love both of them so the comedy worked for me. The plot twists and exposition 'decapitated' me, it risks falling flat on its face several times but I'm so glad it did. I love the Scandinavian lore, it reminded me of 'Midsommar'...till it didn't. The production was amazing, and the insane gore made me spin so silly. One of those you have to tiptoe around because a lot depends on a few significant plot points. Nick Frost writing this makes so much sense and Shudder is only getting better.

This movie is insanely slow and takes way too long to get going. The third act is entertaining but not enough to make the movie enjoyable.

Was tempted to put meh, but the middle pushed it up a bit. It has aspirations to be slasher versions of Shaun of the dead (no where near as good) but the comedy horror with Frost brings something to the table and I really like Aisling Bea in most things.

Honestly thought it was going to be one amazing horror movie, plot at the start was intriguing but about 40 minutes in you knew that’s not what you were getting..
It was a cross between temu midsummer and wish kill bill. Sucked
Wouldn’t recommend

The first half of this movie really had me. The comedic beats landed well and the premise was quite interesting, but the second half really lost me after the plot twist dropped.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy a good rug pull every now and then, but this one just didn’t feel earned for me. It feels like the plot subverts your expectations just for the sake of it, but the story doesn’t pay off any of what we are promised at the start.
In saying that, there’s still enough here to keep you engaged and daddy and mummy both nailed it in their roles.

This was definitely a movie that exists adjacent to the horror genre. Is played incredibly satirical until it jumps its own shark during a very drawn out twist, it makes it funny but beyond that there’s a lot missing from the simple plot. At one point a character randomly throws out that they’re using a sort of social media for serial killers and then they never elaborate on it and honestly that really pissed me off. Nick Frost is always funny and for a simple comedy this wasn’t horrible but beyond that not much here. 2.5/5

The whole time I was like “Where is the comedy part of this movie.” I understand it was just how goofy the family was. Honest I expected the plot twist when I saw how calm they were and when the dad got his wallet then it shows those people dead.

Silly movie with a twist.
Honestly all the joy of experience is the final twist that pull the rug under you. The whole slow moving suspenseful build up is there just to mess with you. This movie is a joke. Literally.

Actually, very nice.
It goes from dark Swedish horror to very British comedy.

I wish parts of it didn’t happen in favor of more lore development that they touched upon. Acting at times was a bit rough for me. Weird (in a good way) kinda concept tho😅

Not the worst movie, but definitely a bit odd and unexpected. The first half had me on edge and asking myself where the “funny” was at in what I saw as a slow burn horror film, but the second half took me to a whole other movie plot. Maybe a 4 or 5/10

I did call the end because everyone seemed a bit off but it was a good watch. The gore made it worth it.
