Freud's Last Session
I don't think I've ever not been fascinated by a Hopkins performance. The dialogue and storytelling was so complex. I know of Sigmund, but I barely know any of his work. It could have had clearer information, and if it wasn't that, then it would be the editing. The director really liked his up close, fast cut away shots. On one hand, it felt rushed and slightly flat. On the other, the design and cinematography was incredible. I could feel the horror. Anthony Hopkins, the score, and psychology. I loved the debates on religion, relationships, sex, death, and life. All without offence.

A pretty weak film—they use way too many flashbacks, and at times, the past scenes get confused with the present ones. The topic the characters tackle regarding the existence of God is quite interesting.
Sigmund Freud (Anthony Hopkins), the father of psychoanalysis, is practically dying of mouth cancer while having his final session with C.S. Lewis (Matthew Goode), a professor and writer best known for The Chronicles of Narnia.

Slow moving. CS Lewis and Sigmund Freud argue for two hours about whether god exists.
Sort of interesting.
I took a seminar on this in college and my professor (Dr. Armand Nicholi, look it up!) served as the inspiration for this movie. Were it not for that, I don’t think I would have liked the movie much.

Anthony Hopkins does a great job storytelling telling and keeping you engaged. For being a straightforward drama it doesn’t feel slow or boring. The conversations they have on their differing viewpoints are very interesting.
