Close to a throwback wacky silent movie that is as refreshing as it is silly and delightful.

I’m not sure what to think of this one upon my first watch. It’s got great cinematography and funny performances but the story is kind of a mess and it’s all over the place. I like Charlie Day but this might be a misfire for his directorial debut. I’ll give this a rewatch and see

Kinda weird

this is such a charming and well shot film. i think it's quite a stunning directorial debut as well. no idea why it's so hated, i loved every second of it. there's a lot of love and care put into every aspect of it— it's palpable! pls give it a chance!

Forrest Gump wanna-be. It was cute, and certainly had a lot of cameos, but just didn’t have the same polish, and wasn’t as well tied together with the storyline

Tough to have a mute AND aimless protagonist (just pick one?). However, the cast, design, pacing and setting are great.

Cute movie, nothing to write home about though.

A clever homage to cinema in many different ways. Cynical commentary on the entertainment industry and society itself. Wonderful comedic elements clearly inspired from the great Peter Sellers.

Stacked cast but boring plot

A couple of great laughs. The table gag is great. Definitely a solid film from Charlie Day, despite any real sense of conflict. 6/10

Starts of as “Being There” but about movies but quickly loses focus. The satire’s too broad, going after celebrity culture, filmmaking, Hollywood conspiracies, cycles of fame, and much more instead of focusing on one target. Poorly paced, tries to rush through the first two acts.

I feel like it had a lot of potential, but it was poorly executed. It wasn’t bad whatsoever and had a lot of funny parts, but was really messy. I love charlie day anyway.

Didn’t think this would be as boring as it was. Not really a fan of the whole silent thing. Despite the loaded cast it really didn’t have a lot of jokes what hit. Couldn’t even finish the entire movie I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time on this.

Absolutely loved this. Charlie Day is a master at physical comedy.

I love Charlie Day but this wasn't super entertaining or funny.

Cute but wanted more… tho a star-studded cast the writing wasn’t that great and humor was subtle but not ijbol funny. Also I think it needed a good ol’ soundtrack but it was lacking in many more ways however I loved almost everybody in the film and it was good but not wow 🤩🌈💣✨
