2.8 - one of the worst adaptations of any book I have ever seen put to screen. Multiple key characters completely cut out, entirely new plot devices added, & the books peak climactic moment is drastically altered. Add in mid acting & bad effects & this was difficult to finish.

Bad ending

AWFUL BOOK AWFUL MOVIE!!!! Fun fact the title of the book(and subsequent movie) is the exact temperature that book paper burns. i suggest you use this knowledge and do what’s right.

I’m definitely a books>movies girlie, but in this case, I’ve never had the pleasure. I’m sure that’s why I didn’t dislike the movie, but it definitely wasn’t a good watch. I didn’t like that they showed and quoted novels; I would think it would be all reading material. I also don’t get why people knew how to read if they weren’t allowed to read. Maybe I missed something, which is easy to do because this movie is boring. As much as I like both Michaels, they brought nothing to the screen. I think they were going for subdued and stoic, but all I got was flat and dull. Zero chemistry between them. I would imagine there was more said about the ministry in the book, which would have provided more context than the movie did. Sideways thumb.

I’m conflicted. Some changes like adapting a story that was written prior to the internet existing by including that as part of the burning isn’t bad. But other changes are very odd. (Like cutting Montag’s wife from story and many others) Good visuals though. MBJ is great.

Not as good as the original but still enjoyed

Not necessarily a bad movie but I didn’t like the changes from the book. Clarisse being older takes away the innocence factor and her dying was a big part of what turned Montag. Also they’re missing his wife who was also a big part of the book
