Everybody Wants Some!!

The more times you watch it, the better it gets 🙌There is no super clear plot line, you just kind of follow a group of guys having a good time, and it’s really entertaining.

Everybody Wants Some!! is, overall, a pretty solid watch: breezy, funny, and packed with enough charm to make you almost wish you, too, had spent the ‘80s wandering around with excellent hair and zero responsibilities.

The cast is undeniably a huge part of why it works. Glen Powell, Tyler Hoechlin, Ryan Guzman, Zoey Deutch and Wyatt Russell are all ridiculously watchable, bringing exactly the right amount of swagger, chaos, and “these guys are somehow both lovable and exhausting” energy.

That said, there is one very large, unavoidable asterisk hanging over the whole thing, and it’s the Blake Jenner of it all. Knowing what we know now makes his presence hard to separate from the movie, and that absolutely affects the experience. It’s difficult to just lean back and enjoy the ensemble antics when one part of the ensemble comes with that kind of real-world baggage.

So yes, Everybody Wants Some!! is still a solid, entertaining hangout movie with a genuinely great supporting cast. But it’s also one of those films where your enjoyment may come with a side of discomfort, which is, frankly, a terrible bonus feature. Still, if you can focus on the Glen Powell/Tyler Hoechlin/Ryan Guzman/Zoey Deutch Wyatt Russell dream team, there’s enough here to remind you why the movie has its fans.
