I expected a goofy comedy but was won over by this true story's grit. It champions perseverance over elitist gatekeeping.

The Director’s Eye:
Fletcher nails the terrifying scale of ski jumps with dizzying POV shots. The saturated palette gives a warm 80s sheen. Egerton is brilliant. As a conservative, I loved seeing a working-class kid prove the snobbish Olympic committee wrong through sheer hard work. Hugh Jackman brings rugged charisma to a coach finding redemption. It's a great testament to chasing God-given dreams, backed by a synth score that perfectly channels triumphant 80s montage energy.

The Cuts:
They took huge Hollywood liberties. Jackman’s fictional "grumpy mentor" makes the plot formulaic. The slapstick training montages also dragged for me and undercut the sport's real danger.

Verdict:
A charming, feel-good movie celebrating determination over raw talent. A perfect family watch.

Favorite Line: "The essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well."
