I’m convinced there wasn’t a script for this movie, just general story points and it’s just everyone ad-libbing. It’s a fun time if you don’t take it seriously.

Honestly, this one’s kind of a blast. Aykroyd doing the ultra-straight cop routine is hilarious, and Hanks is just doing his Hanks thing.. It’s goofy in that very ’80s way, but that’s part of the charm. Not perfect, but way more fun than I expected.

I wish I could have seen this when it came out. It felt like a predecessor to Naked Gun (which came out the next year). I still prefer the Naked Gun series , I feel Ike if I had seen this first and hadn’t grown up on NG, I’d probably have loved this more.

One of those hilarious films they would probably get in trouble for making today. Don’t. And clever. Tom and Dan at some of their best.
