Imagine me watching Frankenstein and Nosferatu very close together and finally getting round to watching possibly one of the most influential movies of all time and it being an absolute massive disappointment as the characters aren’t endearing not to mention it’s poor pacing 5/10

so beautifully eerie, i love how dracula can so seamlessly go from incredibly charming and alluring to creepy and malicious, such a great film, i loved dracula, renfield and mina very much, the story was told so wonderfully

A sublimated ghost story related with all surface seriousness and above all with a remarkably effective background of creepy atmosphere.

This classic made Dracula into the iconic monster he is today

Although slow paced, Dracula is an interesting film from a historical point of view as it is the first surviving sound horror movie and as a result feels much like a stage play. Nevertheless it is interesting and an undisputed classic. 8/10

I’d been wanting to watch this classic film for a long time, and I finally had the chance to see it. I found it a bit surprising that it was never mentioned in my film class. The screenplay and story are solid—I just wish there had been a bit more action during Dracula’s defeat.

obviously a classic but I think I just don't get old movies

This is kinda peak writing. I’m not tryna glaze the og movies but there something about the simple but realistic writing of the 30’s monster movies. Van Helsing discovering Dracula through not seeing his reflection was kind of the perfect ending for this movie. 8.5/10

A beautiful movie, a bit goody but that was enjoyable for sure

Great movie, especially for its time. The performances in this, especially for Dracula, are something to behold. Dracula was truly created after this masterpiece. Some effects are shoddy today, but keeping in mind the time this was made, it is unreal.

I do get why people find this boring because it definitely is slow-paced. While I do feel that way as well, there's just something that draws me to the original Dracula… It could be a combination of nostalgia, Bela Lugosi's performance, and atmosphere.

this is one first movies i’ve seen from this era- i enjoyed the acting, set design, and characters. i found the heavy eye-contact both interesting and unsettling. looking forward to watching the rest of the monster classics :)

A film that despite its age holds up incredibly well. It’s great seeing how the horror genre today was inspired by this classic

Only slightly less boring than the book since it was shorter
