Donnie Darko Reviews

This movie was the biggest mind fuck I’ve ever experienced. I was left very confused after my 1st viewing but after I did some reading and rewatched the movie, I came to really appreciate and love this film. I absolutely love the journey it took to fully take in this movie.

the only masterpiece of jake Gyllenhaal‘s career

Top 10 film! Such a mind fuck! Donnie Darko is a superhero!

so fucking confusing.

I understand like 45% of this movie but whatever it was still cool

felt slow and kinda boring.. the ending just didnt wrap it for me. i feel like i just watch a bunch of foreshadowing for an ending i didnt find mind blowing

I was so confused!! The plot holes I was like “ woahhh” and then I saw drew berry more and I was like “ WOAHHH” and then I saw the guy in the furry costume and I was all “ huuuhhhhh” and then I got to the end and was all “ 😵‍💫”

Yeaaa I’m gonna need some splainin for this one

I think I should watch this a second time

every living creature on Earth dies alone.

This movie can’t really be put into words. But it’s a trip and a half. Beautifully Complex and complicated a very captivating and interesting story. All details characters and actions have purpose. 1 - watch 2 - theorize 3 - look up explication video. 10/10 better with others

it was confusing af, i love the cast (drew barrymore and jake my fav). however i didn’t get most of the movie, even after reading some theories on the internet

Super confusing movie that required me to look up what was actually going on but I love the tone of it all

Im not normally one for ambiguous films, this may be one of my only exceptions. I can see why people may not feel the same, but personally the confusion and question of his sanity is what makes it so interesting

it wasn’t that good men just love to gatekeep

I am him

Yaga

I get why people liked this movie and understand the plot, but it was not that interesting to me. It wasn’t horrible, but I didn’t enjoy it.

Has to google "What is Donnie Darko about?"

this changed me

i saw the directors cut, not sure how different it is but this film made intrigued me. the time loop(?) and the whole premise of the film is so good. the ending explained everything for me and wasnt confusing. the implications of his sacrifice tho…
