An exceptional film that shows the true talent of the amazing Al Pacino even at the early stage of his career.

Bank robbery films really don’t get much better. I absolutely love the fact that the majority of this film takes place in the bank, it creates a great atmosphere.

Comedy sub genre

i enjoyed how this mostly took place in the bank; made you feel stuck with them. surprised that ”comedy” wasn’t one of the genres listed. this is as good as a bank robbery movie gets imo.

If Al Pacino robbed a bank to pay for my sex change operation I would be going with him to Algeria 100%. This movie was so fucking funny. As soon as the scene where Sonny is jumping up and down to paint over the camera played I knew it was gonna be a banger. I really loved the dialogue and specifically the moments where characters were unfittingly polite to each other for what the situation was if that makes sense. I just find that kind of writing comedy gold, and sort of Wes Anderson esc. I was very charmed by Sonny personally and I knew it wasn’t gonna work out, cause like why tf would the cops let that happen they are literally cops, but I really wanted him and Sal to get away with it. At least Leon got to transition and apparently the irl Sonny made a shit ton of money selling the rights to his story so that’s a win.
