If Al Pacino robbed a bank to pay for my sex change operation I would be going with him to Algeria 100%. This movie was so fucking funny. As soon as the scene where Sonny is jumping up and down to paint over the camera played I knew it was gonna be a banger. I really loved the dialogue and specifically the moments where characters were unfittingly polite to each other for what the situation was if that makes sense. I just find that kind of writing comedy gold, and sort of Wes Anderson esc. I was very charmed by Sonny personally and I knew it wasn’t gonna work out, cause like why tf would the cops let that happen they are literally cops, but I really wanted him and Sal to get away with it. At least Leon got to transition and apparently the irl Sonny made a shit ton of money selling the rights to his story so that’s a win.

Honestly I thought I’d be bored watching this but turns out I was invested the whole way throughout the movie.

The acting was amazing and even though the whole movie pretty much happened in one spot there was something going on every second and it was entertaining to watch.

Gotta love a good 70s bank robbery movie based on a true story with Al Pacino as the lead actor.

I liked it. Bank robbery gone wrong that turns into this whole thing 😂. Can’t complain. Al is a legendary actor man.

1/31/26: Fantastic, so wild it is a true story. Al Pacinos best performance. They should have gotten awayyyy 😭😭
