Impresionante filme que trata con exactitud y pulcritud las penurias de la sociedad rusa durante la etapa soviética, la interpretación de Omar Sharif junto a su amante, que cobra vida gracias a Julie Christie simplemente es magnifica.

ice house scene is so pretty

Not a fan of films that focus prominently on infidelity or morally depraved people (and nothing is sympathetic for these characters). But it's well-made, I'm sure, with lavish production and sweeping historical setting. Most interesting scene is that of Yuri/Pasha on the train.

Timeless classic. They don’t make movies like this anymore

Doesn’t compare to Lean’s other greats (Kwai & Arabia), it is still solid. Can’t say I loved it particularly but it’s far from bad. I found it to be overlong & felt the runtime by the end. A film I will probably have to revisit one day but for now it’s not high in my ratings
