I'm starting to notice things I never saw before. Well, maybe I saw them, I just wasn't paying attention, for some reason everything has become a metaphor.โ 21m06s

this might be my favorite movie ever and I'm not exaggerating. this movie is so beautiful. after Davis lost Julia, he noticed all the little things, and I can relate to that personally. Davis wasn't alive until Julia died, and then he started to slowly become alive.this is amazing

especial, engaging, and a bit philosophical
Davis was discovering, experiencing himself, evolving and letting himself to commit mistakes and be part of others ones, right after his wife dead.

Incredibly great movie. Grief is an interesting concept to cover and the movie creates a beautiful story of grief and its complexity. I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for a meaningful watch. Made me emotional. (10/10)

The is an emotional roller coaster of a film. It hits you in the feels at times and makes you laugh at others. Jake Gyllenhaal delivers once again and has some enviable dance moves.

7.73/10. Good movie. Gyllenhall really does a great job with this. I thought both the camera work and story telling was very poetic and advanced. I liked the idea of โbreaking down his lifeโ. There were certain parts I found myself questioning and not too sure about though.

7/10 Some people deal with pain different. While one feels it immidiately, others may need some time to process. Some need to reflect while you or I may need to let it out immidiately.
Pain is pain, no matter how big or small it may be to one another. Whether it be a small cut, or an emotional one, one does not choose to feel pain, but its there.
Pain comes in different forms. Don't dismiss it, it hurts just as much in any forms of it. Just remember to be kind to yourself. It's okay to feel your emotions.
Sending you hugs.

I liked it. not comedy. it said it was. kinda depressing ngl. there's a gay kid ofc smh. He was really grieving, but he didn't know it. he thought he was numb, but it was just his way of dealing with the situation. I love Jake Gyllenhaal. amazing actor. he's loose. he delivers.

Made me cry but a good cry - solid storyline and Jakeโs character was hard to sympathize with at times but he makes even those with the coldest hearts truly understand the messy irrational, illogical, and mind boggling existence that accompanies grief.

Unable to connect. The concept of him writing letters to a vending machine customer service lady + them connecting was strange. Grief is different for everyone but this was so weird. Jakeโs character is off the rails + addresses his grief in nothing but a destructive way.
