great racing and action overall. would definitely recommend if you love adrenaline and speed.

Top Gun with racecars

Absolute crazy audacity and belief in one’s sauce to recreate your blockbuster success from four years prior… but man is it still effective.

Yeah… it’s literally Top Gun and all its story beats, just changed EVERRRR so slightly - why fix what isn’t broken? Still, it takes their achievements there and develops it; the interior shots of the cars look great, the central relationship gets more focus, and feels more believable.

Tom Cruise excels here, it’s a similar to character to Pete Mitchell, but it’s more, “refined”. It helps he holds a MUCH stronger chemistry with Nicole Kidman and that whole plot line works so much better this time around, Kidman of which does great too. Robert Duvall is also brilliant as Doc Hudson, I mean, the mentor role - he’s understands the assignment and it works a charm - again, chemistry with Cruise, albeit in a different way, is fantastic.

It’s an adrenaline rush through and through, it speaks volumes the films which have copied this copies beats *cough cough Cars cough cough*.

It’s Top Gun but NASCAR. Need I say more ?
